New store in the block

We wanted to check this new toy store around our area and we did see something we like for Joshua and we're going to get those in Christmas for him. During holidays we're pretty much not together all the time when we shop. He can't stand it when I buy stuff for myself,co'z you know it will take me so long to pick something I like. He will get bored waiting. Even Myke it's so seldom that he will agree to come with us and today since the store is new we need to check it out together. We then head to get our meal and here's my little poser.

Ready for the big night

No one can stop my little one now he is so super excited to go gather his treats hehehe...Believe me he is in his costume already even though it's still 7 hours earlier before tonight's party.
He even got some of his treats from our neighbor friends early this morning.
Man I bet I was still snoring at 6am. and there he was wide awake and ready to go.

It was indeed a miracle to the little girl's life. I seldom sit in front of my TV to really watch the news. I shouldn't have known it without the online news source.

What's for dinner

As I was typing early night yesterday my head was terribly hurting that I can't continue to save my work. So I had to shut the whole thing down and took a nap. I've had terrible abdominal pain in the last 3 days as well. So it's been a hard 3 day period for me. I was hoping I will feel much better today,so I could enjoy the Halloween.
Since last night I wasn't able to prepare something we decided to just order pizza for dinner then. Joshua loves pepperoni so we had to get half pepperoni with double pineapple and the grilled chicken on the other half. All three of us enjoyed the meal.

Little Scooter

Joshua has been wanting to have a scooter and I promised,when I have enough cash this month, then I will get it for him. I will let him pick later,when he wakes up. I can just picture his face,when he will finally get it.

My mom is so expressive and she has tried to show her love every way possible. I am the opposite and I don't say those words often. My mom is over protective and and it irritates me sometimes hehe.. She might not know I really appreciated everything she does for me,though I might not say those words "I Love You Mom" often,but she knows I care for her and always thankful of the things she has done for me.
We're like friends and we help each other along the way. I've had some bad times and she was one of those people,who made me stronger and definitely my mentor.
I might not say those words a hundred times a day,but she's worth more than that in my heart and I truly love her.

Goofin' around

When I got out from the shower awhile ago Joshua greeted me with a big smile wearing my witch hat. He wanted to be photographed again hehehe,so I got my camera and he was super excited sporting mom's witch hat. He also suggested that he will take a picture of me wearing the hat. So this was the result we ended up goofin' around. My 4 year old can take good photos now too. So here's a sneak peek of what I am going to be like in Halloween hehe.. You know just for fun!

Uptown Saturday Night

If there are things I would really enjoy to events like the Uptown Saturday Night in St. Augustine. It would be the art and the antiques. I love interior design,that I can just get enough of those artistic decors and amazing artwork. You know it's just something I would pay attention to and those kind of stuff would really caught my eye. Friends and family really notice my love of decorating,so I would definitely stick to antique stores. Maybe check out museums I would love that too. Hubby definitely would he is a museum person,so I bet that's something he can spend his night to. This event really sounds interesting and it's something everyone would really enjoy.
No wonder St. Augustine events are really people's most favorite end of the month event. People can't just enjoy lively street music,but also be able to check out their hottest galleries in town. Wow,I can just imagine how awesome that night would that be. Plus each participating shop features an open house with wine and refreshments that add to the festive night time atmosphere. This is really the kind of event I want to attend to. Knowing there are antique stores,unique shops,galleries,that would be open during that time. What else would be the most favorite and exciting event in town during the last Saturdays in October and November definitely the Uptown Saturday Night. Wow,isn't this a deep question? This is something scary in real life and I hope I won't be in a situation like this. If I don't really have a choice,then I am saving my spouse. Oh that hurts not to be able to save them all. But I have a commitment 'til death do us part,so I have to save my other half.
I really paused for a bit and thought what would I really do. I hope they will understand that in situations like I can only save one. At the end it's still really a choice.

What else is the most awaited holiday of the year,of course it's Christmas. I just love everything about christmas. The exciting part is putting up decors indoor and outdoor. And also being able to celebrate the spirit of giving. I love to decorate my place and gosh I am early too in buying stuff. I want to have everything I needed and make sure I can be able to take advantage of the sales too.

Don't they look so cute in their face painting. Notice that little guy in my right who wasn't paying attention. We really had a great time there last Tuesday. The weather was so beautiful,that we didn't expect we can still make it. Since the day before was raining hard. The kids were definitely worn out,but it was worth going there. You know it's a simple activity that everyone could really enjoy. Lots of things to see and do. They even had concerts and other fun activities. If only we had the time to stay that long.

Hamilton Beach® Mixer

One of the things we love to do during holidays is really cook something special. Myke really misses his mom's cooking a lot. He just celebrated his birthday this month and he wished she was around. After she passed away there's no day he doesn't mention how much he misses his mom's cooking. Life will go on and even without her we will continue to make some of our favorites. Since hubby loves everything sweet potato so making this simple and delicious recipe called the Southern Sweet Potato Casserole was perfect. I decided to prepare something my hubby and our visitors really enjoyed.
Southern Sweet Potato Casserole
Prep: 10 min, Cook: 30 min.
2 eggs
1/2 cup light molasses
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
3 sweet potatoes, peeled and grated to make 2 cups
2 Tbs. candied ginger, finely chopped
1 orange, zest grated, juiced
3 Tbs. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. mace
aluminum foil
Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Beat with an electric mixer. Add remaining ingredients and salt to taste. Mix thoroughly. Transfer mixture to a lightly buttered covered 2 quart casserole dish. Cover and bake 20 minutes. Remove cover and bake 10 minutes longer until top is crispy. Serve hot or at room temperature.

This is one of those recipes, that anyone could prepare within a short time. Quick and Easy! Having to use a mixer,while preparing this recipe is a lot more convenient. Sometimes being the host of the party is quite a hassle especially if you don't have a helper. Burned Fries

So this is the result when the cook is not paying attention. I was so distracted that I can't just stay in the kitchen. My son was constantly calling me asking for something. And then I was tempted to check my computer for a little bit and totally forgot I was heating fries. Ooops! If I didn't smell the smoke,then I won't get up. My little one wasn't too excited about it after seeing all the black part. I had to convince him,that we can still eat it. At least I had thrown the bad ones.
Oh yeah we had a great snack hehehe...

Getting Crafty

Part of our trip to the store yesterday was to buy Joshua a new Watercolor set.
He was craving to draw and paint. He actually had an old set of paint,but I found it not easy to come off. I was a bit frustrated when he had that mess all over his hands and clothes. He was digging his old stuff and found that gift from his cousins. When I told him to stop playing with it he wasn't happy at all and daddy decided to buy him a new washable watercolor instead. I love the bold and beautiful colors of these set too.Seems like we have a happy 4 year old.

Quick Potato Soup

I was just browsing my mom's favorite cookbook and found this quick recipe. My little one loves soup so I always make sure I can prepare something every week.
It doesn't really take long to prepare and you know I love quick and easy. So this is definitely part of my menu this weekend.
My aunt had prepared a garlic soup one time with a white bread hehehe.. I can't remember how that taste. I believe I can find that in this cookbook too,but I don't think Josh will be fond of that either.
Here is it if you might be interested to prepare it.

2 cups thinkly-sliced raw potatoes
1/4 cup finely-chopped onion
1 1/4 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon margarine
3/4 teaspoon salt

-Add potatoes and onions to the boiling water.
-Cover,and cook for from 14 to 20 minutes,or until potatoes are tender.
-Mash potatoes slightly with a fork to thicken the soup a little,if desired.
-Add milk,margarine and seasoning. Heat to serving temperature.
-Top each serving with a dab of sour cream and sprinkle with finely cut parsley.

I would have never thought I will be blogging about Victoria Beckham today,but I can't resist after my search at Spock. No can can stop me now and I will be telling you how much I adore her. I am such a huge fan!
When I heard that spice girls has a reunion tour I am very much excited co'z you know you will see them again on TV,lots of interviews and be featured in magazines. They're very popular pop princesses during their time and of course everyone loves them. Who doesn't! I can still remember in High School how crazy we were and we all have our own favorites. I adore all of them but my favorite was Victoria even until now. I also love watching her show Victoria Beckham Comes To America. It's fascinating to know a bit more about her and the show is absolutely entertaining. She is trying to share her life and adore her in the show very much so. I do read stuff about her and if there are things I want to know in particular I will search it. Infact,when I stumble upon spock.com it's a free people search engine. Guess who was the first person in my mind,of course Victoria Beckham and that leads me today talking about her. Gosh,noticed her accent it's to die for. Everytime I watched her show I am like ok keep talking. The show is all about her life being a mom,as a celebrity and a business woman. She has that charm in her that people love about her. Some may love or may hate her,but overall I think she's a very nice person. Without the spice girls would there be Victoria Beckham today. I think she's trying to be normal and the only difference is that she is always followed by paparrazis. I can't imagine what kind of life would that be. I am glad I am able to have a glimpse of her life by watching her show. I really have fun today reading more about her and looking at her gorgeous photos. Look what i've been missing

I've had things that I needed to finish up today,so I wasn't able to blog earlier again. I was itching to sit infront of my PC a little early since I have missed tons of opps last Tuesday. But I had to be out today and purchase stuff that we needed. Just really busy running errands. This chaos doesn't happen all the time since hubby will help me too. We're pretty much all set now and I am back to action.

-I had a profile in AOL personals and that's where he found me. He emailed me the same day and the rest is History hehehe... Still strong,happy and so much inlove.
3. Characteristics:
-Nothing changes he is still the same person,when I first met him. He is the epitome of a loving husband and a good hearted man. Very generous guy to the point that people take advantage of his generosity and been fooled by many. But overall as a husband and daddy I have nothing but admiration towards him everyday. A very hardworking man too. And always assures us to have a much better life.
Fight is not an issue,so we don't fight unless I have my period LOL.
4. Your plans 20 to 30 years from now:
-We love to travel one day. To have another baby in the right time and hopefully it's a girl. He always wants to see the little Shabem. Live together forever!
