We wanted to check this new toy store around our area and we did see something we like for Joshua and we're going to get those in Christmas for him. As I was typing early night yesterday my head was terribly hurting that I can't continue to save my work. So I had to shut the whole thing down and took a nap. I've had terrible abdominal pain in the last 3 days as well. So it's been a hard 3 day period for me. I was hoping I will feel much better today,so I could enjoy the Halloween.
Since last night I wasn't able to prepare something we decided to just order pizza for dinner then. Joshua loves pepperoni so we had to get half pepperoni with double pineapple and the grilled chicken on the other half. All three of us enjoyed the meal. 
Last July we went to MN for our family reunion and just a week after the reunion the whole town was flooded. At least 12 inches of water in my sister-in-law's basement. That was so depressing since the house was newly built and knowing how much work could that be after the flood. We had to cancel our trip going back to TX the following week,so we could help them move the stuff out.

My mom is so expressive and she has tried to show her love every way possible. I am the opposite and I don't say those words often. My mom is over protective and and it irritates me sometimes hehe.. She might not know I really appreciated everything she does for me,though I might not say those words "I Love You Mom" often,but she knows I care for her and always thankful of the things she has done for me.
We're like friends and we help each other along the way. I've had some bad times and she was one of those people,who made me stronger and definitely my mentor.

If there are things I would really enjoy to events like the Uptown Saturday Night in St. Augustine. It would be the art and the antiques. I love interior design,that I can just get enough of those artistic decors and amazing artwork. Wow,isn't this a deep question? This is something scary in real life and I hope I won't be in a situation like this. If I don't really have a choice,then I am saving my spouse. Oh that hurts not to be able to save them all. But I have a commitment 'til death do us part,so I have to save my other half.
I really paused for a bit and thought what would I really do. I hope they will understand that in situations like I can only save one. At the end it's still really a choice.
What else is the most awaited holiday of the year,of course it's Christmas. I just love everything about christmas. The exciting part is putting up decors indoor and outdoor. And also being able to celebrate the spirit of giving. I love to decorate my place and gosh I am early too in buying stuff. Since hubby loves everything sweet potato so making this simple and delicious recipe called the Southern Sweet Potato Casserole was perfect. I decided to prepare something my hubby and our visitors really enjoyed.
Southern Sweet Potato Casserole
Prep: 10 min, Cook: 30 min.
2 eggs
1/2 cup light molasses
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
3 sweet potatoes, peeled and grated to make 2 cups
2 Tbs. candied ginger, finely chopped
1 orange, zest grated, juiced
3 Tbs. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. mace
aluminum foil
Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Beat with an electric mixer. Add remaining ingredients and salt to taste. Mix thoroughly. Transfer mixture to a lightly buttered covered 2 quart casserole dish. Cover and bake 20 minutes. Remove cover and bake 10 minutes longer until top is crispy. Serve hot or at room temperature.

So this is the result when the cook is not paying attention. I was so distracted that I can't just stay in the kitchen. My son was constantly calling me asking for something. And then I was tempted to check my computer for a little bit and totally forgot I was heating fries. Ooops! If I didn't smell the smoke,then I won't get up. My little one wasn't too excited about it after seeing all the black part. I had to convince him,that we can still eat it. At least I had thrown the bad ones.

Part of our trip to the store yesterday was to buy Joshua a new Watercolor set.
He was craving to draw and paint. He actually had an old set of paint,but I found it not easy to come off. I was a bit frustrated when he had that mess all over his hands and clothes. He was digging his old stuff and found that gift from his cousins. When I told him to stop playing with it he wasn't happy at all and daddy decided to buy him a new washable watercolor instead. I love the bold and beautiful colors of these set too.Seems like we have a happy 4 year old.

I was just browsing my mom's favorite cookbook and found this quick recipe. My little one loves soup so I always make sure I can prepare something every week.
It doesn't really take long to prepare and you know I love quick and easy. So this is definitely part of my menu this weekend.
My aunt had prepared a garlic soup one time with a white bread hehehe.. I can't remember how that taste. I believe I can find that in this cookbook too,but I don't think Josh will be fond of that either.
Here is it if you might be interested to prepare it.
2 cups thinkly-sliced raw potatoes
1/4 cup finely-chopped onion
1 1/4 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon margarine
3/4 teaspoon salt
-Add potatoes and onions to the boiling water.
-Cover,and cook for from 14 to 20 minutes,or until potatoes are tender.
-Mash potatoes slightly with a fork to thicken the soup a little,if desired.
-Add milk,margarine and seasoning. Heat to serving temperature.
-Top each serving with a dab of sour cream and sprinkle with finely cut parsley.

They're very popular pop princesses during their time and of course everyone loves them. Who doesn't! I can still remember in High School how crazy we were and we all have our own favorites. I adore all of them but my favorite was Victoria even until now. I also love watching her show Victoria Beckham Comes To America. It's fascinating to know a bit more about her and the show is absolutely entertaining. She is trying to share her life and adore her in the show very much so. I do read stuff about her and if there are things I want to know in particular I will search it. Infact,when I stumble upon spock.com it's a free people search engine. I've had things that I needed to finish up today,so I wasn't able to blog earlier again. I was itching to sit infront of my PC a little early since I have missed tons of opps last Tuesday. The weather did cooperate today and we were able to go to the festival. Gosh, I have hundreds of photos to share. The kids were so adorable with their face painting and that was the best part. I would share the photos in my next post co'z it will take time to edit those.
Our friends were not able to join us yesterday with our planned breakfast together co'z we cancelled out trip to the festival.So it was only my family who spent time in IHOP for some hot pancakes and fruit crepe.

What a bummer! Liza and I are supposedly going to meet in Dallas Arboretum today for the Autumn festival. Tons of interesting daily activities for the kids like the Hay rides,Pumpkin Patch,Pumpkin House,Hay Bale Maze,Kindermusic,Piano Music,Face Painting,Crafts,Petting Zoo and a lot more. But then earlier today it had been raining so hard,that we need to cancel it and reschedule tomorrow. The kids were not happy about it and promised to do it tomorrow instead.
I can still remember the horror hubby went through 2 years ago. He was involved in a terrible accident with some reckless driver. The good thing was the guy, who hit him had a good company or business insurance. Not only that,but to able to document my life as wife and mom. Everything exiciting about my litte man,who is my greatest inspiration. You know it's a mixed of things in general.
Everyday my little one continues to amaze me. One thing he really loves to do with his dad is the reading session. It's funny sometimes co'z he wants to be the story teller. He will point out the characters and explains whatever he sees in the book,which I find really really cute. He is so willing to learn,but what is lacking is the perfect study place. Somehow he can't concentrate because there's TV everywhere and he is totally distracted. I still feel the need and seek the help of Reading Tutors.
Even just for a short time I want him to be in an environment,where he can focus in learning how to read. It's really important to be able to comprehend and understand what you're reading. It's a process to learn and develop those skills,that's why enrolling him in Score is the best choice for now.

Oh my little one told me he wants a pet. He is just so adorable. I can't blame him co'z growing up we were surrounded with wonderful pets. We had puppies,cats and birds. My mom supported us too and we just love to have them around. We are trying to finalize this decision if Joshua is ready to have one already. I am scared he migh not be able to handle them yet,but we will definitely get one for him.

I would be very happy if Joshua will finally learn the fundamentals of Mathematics. I am not in a hurry, that he will learn all of these. Infact, I love it that he is so innocent in calculating things yet. I've had some very cute conversations with him. One day he went to the park with his daddy and I asked him how many kids,where there? And he answered there were 5 kids all in all. Supported my question with how many boys were there and he said 13 boys. Oh it cracked me up!
My little one has started to learn the numbers and it's still a bit confusing to him. One day he will start going to school and so proper planning and preparation,where to enroll him is very important. There are some very good schools around here too.
I might consider Score there's actually one nearby located in Richardson,where my friend lives. They've been around for years and their Math Tutors,are excellent.
They also have fun and motivational environment where kids can develop at their own pace.
My 4 year old obviously needs coloring instructions hehehe...
I have a hard time teaching this boy. Most of the time he doesn't want me coaching him. If he wants to color he will do it by himself and just be free. No mommy around. He wants to be alone. But later he will show everything to mommy and he wants to be praised too. He just started to write his name and notice in the first page he has his name written on it. "JOSHUA"
It might not be the perfect artwork,but he had fun doing it.
