Fluttering Butterflies

So we decided to go to the Heard Museum yesterday. It was very well planned the night before that we will have to do one of the self-guided nature trails. When we got there Joshua totally freaked out and doesn't want to proceed any longer. So we stayed and focused on seeing whatever was the closest, which includes a few animals, birds and the butterflies. Overall it was a great family outing. Here are a few photos to share!

Picnic

I've been so busy this week attending Joshua's summer classes namely ice skating, swimming and gymnastics. I think we've got the perfect summer programs for my little guy to enjoy. Joshua being able to interact with other kids is really important and our time spent on all three classes is really worth it. I can't ask for more all I can say is I am proud of him and no doubt he did great. I can't wait to see his progress at the end of the summer. On the other hand, Josh and I had a picnic earlier this week and here are a few shots.

Outdoor Fun

We always find time to do something together as a family on weekends and one of our favorite places to go is the White Rock Lake. We've visited a few other state parks as well, but us kind of stick to the one which is closer from where we live. Hubby gets so bored easily, that he needs to unwind outside and do something fun. It's a great way to relax, enjoy and get away from our computers as well and not get stuck inside. You know I love taking photos so it's so cool to plan something like this over the weekend.

Bonding Moment

We don't normally go out on Friday's, but since hubby came home early today; we decided to go to Turtle Creek. It's been awhile since the last time we visited the place and I believe Joshua was still very young. It's fun to really do things together as a family and my little guy seemed to enjoy it a lot. We just love each other's company. To see my son having a great time with his dad is the part I love being a mom. Family is very important and yeah as a parent I want my kids to be secured in the future and having term life insurance would be a great choice. Here are a few photos I would love to share. Take a peek!

Lovin' the outdoors

One of the few things Josh and I love to do is really going to the park. We love to bring food and have a picnic over there and spent the rest of our time playing. No doubt I have an active 5 year old boy, so he needed that freedom to be outside and just really having fun. I do like it too and it's great to be active once in awhile and used up all the energy we got. Of course it won't be a perfect outdoor fun without taking photos. I could always find something to photograph anything that interests me.

What a delight

It's sure is a delight to capture some of these. I don't see them everyday unless I will go to the arboretum, lakes or the botanical garden. But it was a pleasure to visit most of the places I mentioned last spring. What's not to love about these; they're bright, lovely, fresh, and beautiful. I am glad I was quick enough to hunt them down. Oh yeah, did I mention I hurt my knee one time because I was following a dragonfly and even though it was hard to shoot a small flying object I still kept running until I tripped.

July4th Snapshots

I thought Joshua would be so over of his fear of the fireworks. We always seem to miss the great show and the finale most of the time and last July 4th was no exception. Now that he is 5 years old he is not over it yet. Yeah, it was kind of a bummer since we waited until 9:30pm just to watch the fireworks show. When the show started him was teary eyed and we had to leave right away. I am glad we did go to the fair park earlier, so at least we were able to play games and enjoy the rides. But overall this year's July 4th celebration had been great.

I think I have quite a lot to share this week. My favorite shots are the swan boats taken at the Fair Park in our (July 4th) celebration. The rest are older photos, which describe this week's theme as well. Happy Hunting!

Sweaty Day

I tried to take Josh to the park yesterday, but even at around 6pm. it was still hot outside. Oh yeah nothing new about the dreaded heat in Texas and it gets insanely up to 103 degrees sometimes. Yesterday it was high of 93 degrees and my little guy and I were all sweaty. But he was unstoppable and still wanting to play, so I let him play. We were quite busy yesterday because he had his swimming class in the morning, then run some errands, went to the mall and then later that day we went to the park. It was just about time for daddy to come home and we were probably 20 minutes earlier and he didn't realize we were out all day. He knows I don't go out that much, so he was surprised we were gone that long. After my little guy settled for the night I was browsing a bit and stumbled upon an equestrian clothing store, which has wonderful selections of horse clothing, horse/rider equipment, rider riding apparel and sportswear.

Simply Artistic

Josh and I went to Target earlier just to buy this art table that he saw online. He really wanted it so bad, that I can't say no and ended up buying it. When I showed it to daddy he seems to really like it a lot, so no worries. If there are three things that Joshua really loves to do and is good at; I would say it's definitely dancing, singing and doodling. As a mom yeah I can tell he would excel in any of these areas. You know he is only 5 years old, but his drawings are simply artistic and his interpretation of his artwork is just marvelous. Here's Josh, who's so engrossed with his artwork!

Black and White-Contrast

When I edit photos I tend to play more in combining photo actions and find the black and white to be my favorite effect. I am kind of addicted to its look really and that's why I just added a new B/W set in my album, which are all my personal favorites. I just loved it!
I observed my little guy hasn't been so cooperative with me lately. He just gets so grumpy when I take photos of him. Poor Joshua maybe he can't stand mommy anymore lol. I do get a little pushy at times and I bet he hates that. Often times I am also drawn to nature and landscapes, but most of the time he is my favorite subject.

July 4th Goodies

Joshua is finally enrolled to a swim class. We just visited the swim school today and my little guy is very excited for his first session this coming Thursday. He is a little bit behind because they actually started last 3 weeks ago. But I insisted if he could still get in for this summer, then that would be great. I know my little guy is more than ready to learn all the techniques and what's lacking is just really proper training. I am glad we pursued it this year!

On the other hand, when I got home hubby handed me a package it was a green box from IZEA. I knew it right away it's going to be July 4th goodies. They're known to send seasonal gifts and I haven't gotten any yet,so now it's my turn. How wonderful of them to send something for the bloggers. This is really appreciated!

There is still hope

I really love Myke's interpretation of this house. When we visited Texas country side we saw this old abandoned house on the way to my bro-in-law's place. He said there is still hope and I looked towards the direction of his eyes and saw this house. I then took a picture and would love to keep this photo. As you look at it it's not very appealing, but after hubby said there is still hope I stopped and thought of it too why there's still hope. To me a picture like this is like someone who is hopeless, sad, broke or torn inside but like what hubby said there is still hope. We can always find a way to stand and find peace again. Just like this home maybe one day this will be renovated lol. So here's a meaningful snapshot!

Photohunt:Bright

Here are a few shots of Joshua. My little guy was a little bit irritable when I took these photos. He doesn't want to smile to mommy, but the photos turned out to be a great subject for this week's theme, which is BRIGHT. Photos were taken in broad daylight at around 94 degrees in Dallas. Oh yeah, he wasn't digging the heat. Happy Hunting!

Droplets

I intend to stay home yesterday because my family has been outside successively in the past few weeks and my skin is totally dark. Plus we still got a lot of plans to do this whole summer, so that's why my family needs rest. We are just too excited to enjoy summer this year and the heat doesn't seem to bother us, especially my little guy. There hasn't been much to do yesterday either,so when boredom strikes I find myself playing with my camera. I can't think of anything, but to shoot droplets. I truly admire what others achieved shooting tiny droplets. I find it fascinating to experiment sometimes.

Fun Rides

Joshua is too little for these rides, so we decided to focus in the water park and watch shows as much as we can. Hubby was dying to ride on one of these, but we don't have a choice but to pick the ones Joshua can ride with us too. If hubby and I got a chance to ride and knowing how high it is I would still be very hesitant to do it. I don't know if I would be thrilled to be up there. It's just way scary to me, but looking at the people up there it seemed like they're really having fun. Maybe one day I will be less fearful and adventurous enough to try it!

The Alamo

When we visited San Antonio Downtown last week hubby was so persuasive to see The Alamo first. I have a little knowledge about the city's history, but hubby was nice to educate me and it was great seeing the place up close. We then perused the popular river walk and had our dinner over there. No doubt the city has definitely a Spanish feel to it. We also noticed the vendors nearby and we had to buy Josh an ice cone. The purpose of the trip was for SeaWorld Adventure, but we chose to stay in downtown to see part of the city, but we're definitely going back there. Our time was very limited so I hope next time we could plan to stay for at least a week to see the rest. It's only 4 and a half hour drive, so driving over there isn't that bad. It's also nice to see the neighboring towns and cities. If only I were rich, then I won't hesitate to hire a private jet charter next time I'll go back there. Oh yeah that sounds really great!
